Donald Elder
Donald Elder started his art education at the Art Students’ League, the New York Academy of Art and Pratt. He lived in Europe studying in Paris, Florence and Valdottavo, Italy. Elder is a three-time receipient of the Pollock-Krasner Award and received the Edward G McDowell Grant. He currently lives in Woostock, NY.
Elder applies an abstract impressionist point of view to his paintings. He has an emotional rapport with nature. His work echoes of fantasy, mystical light and romanticism.
